In a month marked by a busy season of travel, shopping, and family visits leading up to Christmas and New Years Day, Lions took time to continue to serve the Tri-County area.

Knoxville Tri-County Lions delivered 600 greeting cards to Holidays for Heroes, Everyone deserves a piece of Holiday Cheer. Cards for service members go to James H. Quillen VA Healthcare System at Mountain Home in Johnson City to be distributed to East Tennessee Veterans. We give back a little for those who gave a lot.

December 11 was the annual holiday dinner and gift exchange at the Gondolier Restaurant where members also finalized plans for upcoming service projects.

Knoxville Tri-County Lions delivered a dozen Christmas cookies and cards to 81 elderly residents in Seymour on December 17.

Three individuals received eyeglasses purchased for a value of $231.

On-going activites include collection of used eyeglasses throughout the Tri-County area and plastic recycling.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from the Tri-County Lions!

More than 29 million Americans have diabetes, including almost one-third who have not been diagnosed. And over 7 million Americans 40 or older have diabetic retinopathy. Diabetic retinopathy is the fifth-most-common cause of blindness in the world. Lions work to bring awareness to the need for preventing and diagnosing diabetes. We Serve.
