Saturday, July 29, Tri-County Lions were well represented at the District 12-N Organizational Meeting in Morristown at Lions Volunteer Blind Industries. Lion President Bill Barnes, Secretary Ken Moffett, and Past President Connie Emmons participated.

Lion Connie serves this year as District Global Service Team (GST), District 12-N Charities Chair, and Leader Dogs Chair. She brought her Leader Dog in Training Sunshine with her.

District Governor Frank McCall, top photo, presided.

During July Tri-County Lions collected and donated about 25 mugs to Random Acts of Flowers, an organization that repurposes fresh flowers and gives them to individuals in health care facilities.

Random Acts of Flowers was founded Knoxville in 2007 by Larson Jay and now also operates in Tampa, Indianapolis, Asheville, NC and Central Texas. They reuse fresh flowers from weddings and other events.

What a good time at Monday's meeting, July 10! We were happy to welcome a Lion "cub" with some of his animal friends (see picture) , and progressed on planning for upcoming opportunities. Children keep us young at heart!

You will soon be hearing more about our participation in this year's Alzheimer's Walk thi s fall at the Island in Pigeon Forge, our "H R Buddy Greene Memorial Cruise-In" in October, and more.

Thank you Gondolier Restaurant for such a pleasant atmosphere and such delicious food!
